The Second Session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC) and the Second Session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) convened in Beijing from March 3 to March 5. During this period, teachers and students of HNUST followed the two sessions and listened to the Government Work Report delivered by Premier Li, whichsparked a heated discussion.
Wu Yijun, head of the State-Owned Assets Department, believed that, as a citizen, also as a party member, we must resolutely safeguard the leadership of the CPC central committee, implement the guidelines and policies of the CPC central committee, be prepared for danger in times of safety and recognize the problems and challenges China's social development faced with. At the same time, as a college worker, we should face up to the problems and challenges in our work, be brave to take responsibility, fulfill our duties, and spare no efforts to do our own work.
He Chunsheng, director of the Retirement Department, said that as the main person in charge of the school's Retirement Department, he was very concerned about the pension and other livelihood issues discussed during the two sessions. He said that the school was under constant development to optimize and improvethe activity places for retired teachers, and enrichtheir spare time. In the following work, we will continue to carry out the aim of serving people heart and soul to make retirement work more detailed and practical.
Wu Huaiyou, Dean of the School of Marxism, said the successful convening of the two sessions was a major event in the political life of Chinese people and a significant convention in a crucial year in the process of China's development in the new era. As college workers, we should have a clear understanding of the overall situation of the current social and economic development as well as focus on the fundamental task of cultivating talents to meet the needs of national and regional economic development.
Li Binghuang, Party Secretary of the School of Education, pointed out that promoting the construction of first-class universities and disciplines and developing more equitable and quality education was one of the important tasks for the government in 2019. This year, we will focus on academic construction, based on talent training and subject, enhance the attractiveness of teachers in class teaching and improve the quality of education and teaching according to the school's development goals and education requirements.
As a member of the CPPCC, Hu Yao, a young charming teacher of the School of Architecture and Art Design, said that she had long been carrying out her duty to constantly upgrade her personal qualities and make great efforts to achieve certain achievements in various areas of concerns. In view of the disconnection between college students and society, she believed that the ultimate goal of education is to solve social problems and constantly improve students'practical ability, so as to help understand and digest knowledge, and then achieve the purpose of education and teaching, and from the actual feedback, this is far better than the limitation of theoretical study in the classroom.
The two sessions have also aroused extensive concern and discussion among our students.Tang Congcong, majoring in applied psychology of the School of Education, also expressed his views, "The problem of education is the livelihood of people. As a student, I am confident in future education and have confirmed our confidence in earnest study." He said that under the leadership of the Party Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping as its core, China's economy has made remarkable achievements. Contemporary college students should constantly enhance their abilities and qualities, and constantly enhance confidence in our path, theory, system as well as our culture.
"The online survey report on the two sessions shows that the attention paid by ordinary people to education, training and economic development is much higher than that of last year." said Peng Bing, a student from the Japanese Department of the School of Foreign Studies. He believed that a series of measures taken by the state in recent years can also play an important role in stimulating and promoting the development of college students, so that college students'views on the future direction of China's economy become more positive, and they are more likely to study hard, armed themselves with knowledge. The combination of ideals and national development paths contributes to national rejuvenation while realizing self-worth.
